Each week I choose a theme that I feel will help you to set the right tone for the week. You can watch the video of The Elegant Tone here. I believe that using these simple insights will help you to raise your awareness so you can lead a more elegant and mindful life. This week the elegant tone is all about:
Arriving on Time
I understand that depending on where you are in the world the concept of being on time varies. I will be speaking about this from a western and business perspective and one that can be adapted to a multinational environment.
Being on time is a huge part of being polite and considerate especially in a professional setting. It is as much about respecting others as yourself because you are holding yourself to a standard, are committed to making a good impression as well as show respect and value for someone else’s time.
Some additional benefits of being on time are that it helps you to feel centered. Making timeliness a priority is part of being prepared and creating space for your best self.
How can we be more committed to being on time:
1. Prepare, prepare, prepare
✔️ Plan your clothing,
✔️ pack your bags,
✔️ plan your route
These simple steps are to do everything you can in advance so that there are fewer surprises, as well as more time, should something unexpected arises.
2. Set your clocks ahead and schedule meetings in your calendar for a few minutes in advance
3. Commit
Make timeliness a value and commit to the lifestyle change. Decide that being on time isn’t just something you will try to do but that it is a way to represent your personal brand…
✔️ I am a professional, I am responsible, I am respectful, I am considerate and I am on time.
Are you always on time? How do you ensure that you are always considerate of others’ time?
