Have you ever learned about deportment?
Many people ask me for tips on deportment and I post a video with tips on my Instagram every week.
Department is how you sit, stand, walk, and carry yourself. One who has developed the skill of deportment is said to have poise.
This week’s edition of The Elegant Tone is all about deportment and here are my insider tips:
Do you know what your body language is saying about you? Have you ever thought about how you hold yourself?
Body language is one of the most important factors in communication and our first impression.
I suggest that you record yourself and watch the tape back. Take pictures and notice what your body is saying. It is uncomfortable but it is an invaluable tool for self-awareness.
Without staring at people, try and observe people with poise and notice how they carry themselves. This can help you to create a goal for how you would like to develop your stability.
Television and movies are an excellent way to watch people with poise without staring as well!
3. Building Self Confidence
Working to develop your self-confidence will go a long way in helping to develop your deportment. The same can also be said for working on your deportment. If you carry yourself with confidence, you may start to feel more confident as well.
Have you ever watched one of my deportment videos? If you have I would love to know which one you have seen, or which video is your favorite in the comments.
